Amazing food, service, and location (close to the zoo). Ate here with my friends, instantly greeted with warm hospitality and attentiveness, and the food was delicious! Will come back with my family!!

Terrible service! i went with some friends and we all decided to share the large order of panchos since it is a very big portion. The panchos are very tasty but the service was horrible! The waitress was upset that we only ordered that for our table so she was not very kind to us after that. You usually get beans for each person along with chips and salsa as you walk in, and we did not get either. We saw every other table get some before they even ordered but not us. When we asked if we were getting beans, she said, "not today." when we then asked for chips and salsa, she said "no." She then came back with the chips in a small bowl when all other tables got a regular sized basket. We would have tipped her the same (and well) no matter what we ordered as we were all paying separately, so no need to be so rude. We just dont eat a lot and have ordered panchos each separately before to have more than half left over, so we thought it made sense to share an order. This was after I gave them a THIRD chance after getting rotten tasting chicken 2 previous times. The first time, i thought it was just me and didnt complain. The 2nd time, i went with a friend and had her taste it and she said

Came here for the bbq chicken, unfortunately it wasn’t that. Let’s start with the locale. Nice location, plenty of parking and the place looks nicely remodeled and clean. Service was a little lacking, but maybe because there was a party, they looked a bit overwhelmed. Didn’t take long to take my drink order not my meal order. Drink was served promptly but the rest took a while. I ordered the bbq chicken and brisket plate. I could see other tables were brought beans and chips w salsa while their orders were brought out, unfortunately not mine. My chips/salsas and beans were brought with my food order, unlike other tables. Food was decent but not BBQ at all, at least not what we expect in Texas. Beans were very watered down and mostly tasteless. The rice was good but a little mushy. Now for the chicken, it was a bit dry and smothered in what seems a type of Louisiana watery sauce , definitely not bbq. The brisket was tasty but NOT bbq’d it was like a roast meat and not sliced, it was mostly almost chopped scraps. The portions were good for the price but that was offset by the food quality and taste. Btw, no bbq sauces were offered nor available , IN A BBQ place!!! I was offered tea

I ate lunch here by myself and would eat here again. It wasn't very busy at the time. On the TVs was a movie, country music and boxing. The service was good and the BBQ food was delicious! I ordered chopped brisket and sausage sandwich. It came with potato salad, charro beans and a small bowl of chips. A good amount of food for the price I paid. The brisket had a nice smoky flavor to it and the sausage as well had a nice smoky BBQ flavor to it. The restaurant was clean and the bathroom was also very clean.

This is one of Brownsville hidden gems. Good food, good portions and reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Good location and plenty of parking. Complimentary chips and salsa and very delicious Ranchero Beans. Very unique chicken seasoning. Must try!
